Introduction

With its small, historic town centre, illustrious nightlife, excellent hotels and refined shops, the Alpine town of Kitzbühel lives up to a reputation that is both cosmopolitan and quaint. Tourism has been paramount ever since 19th-century ski pioneer Franz Reisch recommended the Kitzbühel mountains to summer guests as well as winter-sports enthusiasts. However, it has never overrun Kitzbühel’s natural assets and authentic Tyrolean flavour.
