With its small, historic town centre, illustrious nightlife, excellent hotels and refined shops, the Alpine town of Kitzbühel effortlessly combines the cosmopolitan and quaint. Tourism has been paramount ever since 19th-century ski pioneer Franz Reisch recommended the Kitzbühel mountains to summer guests as well as winter-sports enthusiasts. But it has never overrun Kitzbühel’s natural assets and authentic Tyrolean flavour.
