Alain de Botton

Alain de Botton was born in Switzerland in 1969 and is the author of a number of non-fiction books addressing topics of everyday life in a philosophical way. His bestselling works include How Proust can Change your Life, The Consolations of Philosophy and Essays in Love. He has also made several television documentaries - and in 2008, set up The School of Life in central London, offering intelligent self-help in the great topics. His latest book is entitled The Pleasures and Sorrows of Work. 15.06.07
