Ben Soames is a former Royal Marine who provides training and consultancy on high-risk hostile environments to governments, NGOs and businesses. He has cruised the Gulf of Aden and the Straits of Malacca keeping cargo and crew safe from pirate attacks and recently trained personnel in Georgia. He is also Monocle’s consultant on security issues.
