David Byrne was the founding member and principal songwriter of the new wave American band Talking Heads. As well as a musician and producer he is also a visual artist, best known for his ‘Playing the Building’ project that connected a pipe organ to a building’s radiators, pipes and pillars allowing visitors to create music from the structure in which they were standing.
