Since Klein joined the US capital’s transportation team in February 2009, he has developed an ambitious programme to overhaul the city’s transportation networks, including the expansion of a bike-sharing programme, the quadrupling of 48 miles of bike lanes, and the launch of tram services. The Virginia Tech marketing graduate was car-sharing company Zipcar’s regional vice president for four years before becoming CEO of On the Fly, the boutique food-service company he co-founded in 2007.
