MacFadyen has covered extensive ground in the investigative journalism field as a senior producer-director of programmes for World in Action, Channel 4 Dispatches, BBC's Fine Cut, 24 Hours, Panorama and PBS Frontline since 1970. He is also visiting professor at City University, London, and the director of the Centre for Investigative Journalism - an international charity that provides training in, and public understanding of, investigative journalism, critical inquiry, and in-depth reporting and research.
