As Dubai-based news channel Al Arabiya’s man in Washington, the Lebanese-born Melhem made history when he conducted the first televised interview with the newly elected President Obama for Dubai-based news channel Al Arabiya in January 2009. The Lebanese-born journalist, who also writes for his homeland’s daily paper Annahar, is author of “Dual Containment: The Demise of A Fallacy” about the US’s Iran and Iraq policies. A frequent guest on CNN, MSNBC and National Public Radio, he speaks regularly about Middle Eastern affairs on campuses across the US.
