John Carlin

Author and journalist
A former South Africa bureau chief for The Independent, Carlin has written for El Pais, The Observer and The New York Times among many other publications. His book, Playing the Enemy, the story of Nelson Mandela’s use of the 1995 Rugby World Cup to promote reconciliation in the newly democratic South Africa, inspired the Hollywood blockbuster Invictus.
