Co-founder, Firmdale Hotels
Born in Southampton in 1956, Kemp started her career as an interior designer in an architectural practice. She launched the Dorset Square Hotel with husband Tim Kemp in 1985; the following year they founded hotel group Firmdale, whose properties now include the Knightsbridge, the Haymarket and the Charlotte Street Hotel. As interiors director of the group, she has overseen the design of each, including Firmdale's New York property, the Crosby Street Hotel, which launched in 2009. In 2007, Kemp was awarded the Crown Estate Urban Business Award.
