Maria Teresa Leal founded Coopa-Roca in 1987 as a coalition of artisans and seamstresses in the Rocinha favela of Rio de Janeiro. Having grown and expanded, Coopa-Roca now counts Paul Smith, Osklen, Lacoste and Agent Provocateur among its clients.
