President, Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA)
After studying architecture at the University of Sheffield, Reed worked at Hadfield Cawkwell Davidson where she confirmed her interest in housing design. She was a senior architect for South Yorkshire Housing Association before setting up Reed Architects in Mid-Wales in 1992. She became president of RIBA in 2009, after being a RIBA council member, vice-president of membership and President of the Royal Society of Architects in Wales. Reed is also been involved with teaching at the Welsh School of Architecture, the Birmingham School of Architecture and for Plymouth and Bath Universities.
