Simon Prosser

One of London’s leading literary publishers, Simon Prosser rose to prominence as an expert talent-spotter, paying a six-figure advance to an untested graduate, Zadie Smith, for White Teeth. He achieved an unprecedented coup in 2006 when his authors won the top three literary prizes - Whitbread, Orange and Booker. He joined Hamish Hamilton in 1997, after a stint editing postcolonial and postmodern theory at Blackwell, and general trade at Hodder and Stoughton.
