Yohanna

We first heard from Yohanna in the Monocle Summer Series of 2009. Born in Copenhagen, she moved to Iceland aged two and was taken under the tutelage of María Björk. At nine she recorded her first album and released it to critical acclaim on her 10th birthday in 2000. Collaborating with songwriter and producer Óskar Páll Sveinsson on the Eurovision 2009 hopeful "Is It True?", Yohanna finished second place and the track reached the top of the charts in many countries across Europe. Yohanna’s debut album is called Butterflies and Elvis. 23.07.09
