The Monocle Weekly

The Monocle Weekly

This week, on Edition 119 of the Monocle Weekly, we have David Kaminski-Morrow on the line from Flightglobal to discuss the effect the latest plane crash outside Kathmandu will have on Brand Nepal. Then we'll be hearing from Emma Thomasson, Zurich büreau chief for Reuters, to find out the latest on the scandal at UBS and the implications it could have on the world of banking. Charles Dumas, author and chairman of Lombard Street Research, is joining us in the studio to tell us why 2012 will not bring the long-awaited economic recovery hoped for, but instead a second economic slump, and why the US may, after all, still come out on top. Then we have Savile Row tailor Patrick Grant for the second installment of "Brand Remembered", before it's over to our culture editor, Robert Bound, who plays "Still Smiling" from Amanda Applewood's new record, I Love Boys (Too Young To Die). Last but not least, our foreign editor, Steve Bloomfield, talks us out with a Monologue on why Britain should deploy its tax inspectors, not its military.
