The Monocle Summer Series

The Summer Series

It's off to Lebanon for this week's edition of the Monocle Summer Series. Our Beirut correspondent Carole Corm joins the team and we sample the sound of the Beirut underground music scene with Zeid and the Wings, who share their unique blend of reggae, electronica and traditional Arabic music.

  About the Monocle Summer Series

A cult name on the Lebanese music scene, songwriter and producer Zeid Hamdan was one half of the groundbreaking band Soapkills, which brought together electronic and classical Arabic music. Continuing on a similar theme, Zeid and the Wings is his most recent music venture - a band that mixes rock and electro influences with traditional Arabic sounds to dazzling effect.
