  About the Monocle Summer Series

Trombonist Peter Fredriksson formed the Quiet Nights Orchestra as an instrumental sextet in 2006. Influenced by Blue Note, 1960s jazz and global nujazz, the band has subsequently grown to eight members, and now includes young vocalist Sofie Norling. In April 2009, the Stockholm-based ensembles' first album, Chapter One, was released in Canada and Japan.
