Senior Digital Developer/Editor

Monocle is looking to appoint a new Senior Digital Developer/Editor to oversee our ever-expanding digital business. With round the clock radio, short films and e-commerce at its core, monocle.com is a complex and fast moving enterprise that demands equally snappy thinking, agile responses and forward planning. You will not only work with the editorial and business teams to ensure the site is running flawlessly around the clock but also work with and challenge our existing technical partners to monitor performance and costs. Front-end Web Developer

Monocle is looking for a Front-end Web Developer to join our digital team. The ideal candidate should work well within a creative group and be comfortable maintaining, optimising and extending our large-scale responsive website. There are a number of approaching scheduled changes underway to improve e-commerce, radio and expand our publishing projects, which the ideal candidate will be directly involved in.

The candidate should be able to juggle multiple projects and have a balance of technical skills. You will be a team player who is excited about working in a fast-paced environment and who can deliver high-quality work to deadline. Candidates should have the following:

Advertorial Coordinator

Monocle is looking for an Advertorial Co-ordinator to oversee the production of bespoke content for advertising clients.

This role involves liaising between clients and our editorial team to ensure we deliver advertorials that exceed clients expectations and are in line with the premium nature of the Monocle brand.

To be successful, you will need to have the ability to understand and interpret client objectives and communicate these clearly and effectively to the editorial team. This will require strong relationship building and communication skills, organisation and time-management skills, attention to detail, and a high degree of self-awareness. Your duties will include:

  • Project management of the advertorial process.
  • Developing production timelines for each project.
  • Communicating with clients and the editorial team.
  • Developing and managing budgets for advertorial production.
  • Assisting the advertising sales team with proposals where required.
  • Developing new client prospects and introducing them to advertorial opportunities.

This role sits within the advertising department and reports directly to the advertising director. Applicants must have at least 2 years experience in a media organisation, priority will be given to those with publishing experience, or account management experience in a media agency.

Advertising internship — London

Monocle is offering a full-time internship with the advertising team in our London office.

This internship will be of particular appeal to recent graduates in business or publishing with an interest in the commercial aspects of magazine publishing and sales, including print, digital and broadcast. Assisting with the day-to-day operation of the department, you will have well-developed organisational and research skills, exceptional attention to detail and a passion for luxury brands and media.

In addition to demonstrating a high level of business acumen and commercial sense you'll already have customer service, sales or project-management experience, be able to demonstrate creativity and entrepreneurial flair and be ambitious, forward-thinking and proactive.

Editorial Internship

We are looking for an intern for our New York Bureau from September. You'll be mainly reporting to the editorial team, with some general office tasks. Alongside some writing and helping with magazine production, experience or an interest in radio is a distinct advantage. You'll be helping work on our radio station Monocle 24 and booking guests to connect with London, among other tasks. We'd also love the prospective intern to get out there on the streets and help record interviews and report packages for us.

The ideal candidate will have an interest in current affairs, business and design, and be able to carry out detailed research. English fluency is essential, and other language skills are also desirable.

The typical hours are 9.30am to 6.30pm but there will be occasional earlier morning or later evenings, normally to accommodate our radio guest. Expenses will be covered.
