Why Zimbabwe is adopting a new currency
It’s not often that a nation introduces a completely new currency but that’s what Zimbabwe has done with a monetary unit called the zig (short for Zimbabwe Gold). Last week the country, which has the world’s highest inflation rate, was named as one of the worst-governed countries in Africa by UK-based research organisation World Economics. Will the zig help to turn things around?
